Questions I get asked
Interview prep
Short answers to the things people usually want to know. Expand any of them.
What’s your biggest weakness? +
I over-engineer the first version. I’ve learned to time-box the “perfect” architecture and to validate with users before the abstractions pile up. It’s still a work in progress, just a smaller one.
Why did you leave PayRail? +
Funding dried up after a tough B2B quarter. I stayed three months past the end of the runway to hand over cleanly, then joined Ledgerly. I keep in touch with the team — two of them are clients now.
How do you handle disagreement with a designer? +
I argue with measurements, not preferences. If I can show the interaction lag on a mid-range phone or the contrast failure in a WCAG audit, the discussion ends quickly. If I can’t, the designer is probably right.
Do you work with teams that don’t use my stack? +
Yes. My default is to learn the team’s conventions rather than impose mine. The abstractions I bring are about boundaries and testing, not a specific framework.
Are you available for contract or full-time? +
Both — I take on two or three engagements per quarter and keep roughly one day a week free for mentoring. Happy to talk through what fits your timeline.
